Sage LeBlanc, the owner of Shuga’ Beet Farm Organics, produces high-quality produce through sustainable farming practices in Park County, Montana. Her veggie list is impressive, with pattypan squash, royal beans, napa cabbage, beets, of course, and much more!
The relationship between the Livingston Food Resource Center (LFRC) and Shuga’ Beet Farm Organics took root in the summer of 2023. It all started with an intriguing message about a potential produce donation.
These messages always bring a sense of anticipation and mystery—will it be a modest grocery bag of zucchini or an abundant pickup truck full of fresh produce? To our delight, on that fortunate day, we received the latter.
Sage was getting ready to get married and had ingeniously hosted her bachelorette party at her farm. She and her friends spent the day harvesting a bounty of fresh produce, all destined for the LFRC. As a self-proclaimed local food enthusiast, I found this to be the most fabulous idea ever, though I might be a bit biased. Regardless, it was clear that we needed to establish a more consistent partnership with this remarkable farm.
Sage is a vibrant and kind gal who will give you a high five when she drops off produce. Dawned-in overalls with mud still on them, she gives you an accurate picture of what it means to buy local. Her dedication to local food is both inspiring and contagious, mirroring the LFRC’s own commitment to providing fresh, sustainable produce to our clients while supporting the local economy.
At the LFRC, we recognize the importance of supporting farmers like Sage. By uplifting local agricultural practices, we not only enhance the quality of food available to our community but also strengthen the local economy. Sage’s passion for local food and sustainable farming resonates deeply with our mission, making this partnership a perfect blend of shared values and goals.
The collaboration between Shuga’ Beet Farm Organics and the Livingston Food Resource Center exemplifies the power of community-driven efforts in fostering food security, promoting sustainability, and nurturing a vibrant local economy. Together, we are cultivating a healthier, more resilient community, one fresh produce delivery at a time.
