More than 60 Park County seniors receive additional food support through the Seniors Commodities Program each month.
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program is a DPHHS program facilitated by the LFRC and Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Monthly commodities include milk, cereal or oatmeal, juice, cheese, rice, pasta, beans, and canned vegetables and fruit. In addition to these pantry staples, the LFRC provides fresh produce, eggs, bread, ground beef, and whole milk.
Senior Commodities are distributed on the third Thursday of each month. Seniors can pick up their commodities from 10 am to 12:30 pm on distribution day or during regular Pantry hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 pm to 5 pm). Those unable to come into the Pantry can arrange to have someone else pick up their commodities, or coordinate a delivery through LFRC.
