Kaya Patten-Fusselman
Kaya Patten-Fusselman returned to the Livingston Food Resource Center as Executive Director in February 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to food justice. Having previously served as the Inventory and Procurement Manager from 2021 to 2023, Kaya was driven by her passion for providing the most nutritious food possible to clients while fostering a resilient local food system. Between her tenures at LFRC, she honed her skills as Communications Director for the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance.
Kaya is dedicated to increasing nutrition security in Park County through a holistic approach that supports individuals across all stages of life, from childhood to senior years. Her belief in food justice and indigenous food sovereignty drives her vision for a more equitable world. She holds a degree in Sustainable Food and Bioenergy Systems from Montana State University.
In addition to her role at LFRC, Kaya serves as the Vice Chair of the Forward Montana board. Her extensive background in nonprofit work and management is characterized by integrity, equity, and the conviction that food insecurity is not a moral failing - everyone deserves access to food.
Outside of her professional life, Kaya enjoys hiking, skiing, running with her dogs and husband, Nate, rafting, reading, and writing. Her go-to food systems book recommendation is Stuffed and Starved by Raj Patel.
